WHOIS / RDAP Lookup
Look up a domain's registrar, dates, statuses and nameservers.
About WHOIS / RDAP
WHOIS is the system used to publish domain registration data. RDAP, a more structured successor, is replacing it, and this tool uses RDAP or WHOIS depending on the TLD. You can see the registrar, the creation, update and expiry dates, statuses such as transfer locks, and the nameservers configured for the domain. This service does not display registrant names, addresses or other personal contact details.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between WHOIS and RDAP?
WHOIS is the long-standing text-based way of returning registration data. RDAP is its successor, returning structured JSON and offering better extensibility. This tool uses whichever suits the TLD.
Why are the registrant's name and contact details missing?
This service does not display registrant names, addresses or other personal contact details. Registrars and registries may also withhold this information.
Why does it show no data?
Either the domain is not registered, or its TLD does not support WHOIS/RDAP. If retrieval fails, a separate message says so.
What do domain statuses such as clientTransferProhibited mean?
They are codes describing the domain's state, such as whether it can be transferred, updated or deleted. See the domain status list for the meaning of each.
Is the result real-time?
To reduce load, results for the same domain may be kept for a limited time (up to 7 days for registered domains and up to 1 day for unregistered ones).
