Domain Age Checker

Check the time elapsed since the registration date recorded in WHOIS/RDAP.

About Domain Age

Domain age is the time elapsed since the registration date recorded in WHOIS/RDAP, shown in years and months. It can help when researching an expired domain or checking a business partner’s domain. An older registration date does not necessarily mean the website has been continuously active.

What this tool shows

  • Creation date

The registration date recorded in WHOIS/RDAP.

  • Last updated

The date the registrar/registry record was most recently updated.

  • Expiry date

The date the domain's registration is scheduled to expire.

  • Domain age

Years and months elapsed since the creation date.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check a domain's age?

Enter the domain name. The tool retrieves the creation date from WHOIS/RDAP and calculates the elapsed time automatically.

Why is no creation date shown?

Some TLDs (such as certain ccTLDs) do not publish a creation date or do not support WHOIS/RDAP at all. Unregistered domains are not shown either.

Does domain age affect search rankings?

Domain age alone does not determine rankings. Use it as background information about the domain’s registration.

What do the updated date and expiry date mean?

The updated date is when the registrar/registry record was last changed, which is not necessarily when the registration was renewed. The expiry date is when the registration is scheduled to lapse.
